Annual Research & Career Symposium

The objective of the symposium is to give UK postdocs an opportunity to share their research, celebrate their successes, network with peers (including graduate students & faculty), develop professionally, and learn about possible career options. 

Who is invited? 

SOPS mission is to promote the exchange of ideas across disciplines. As such, UK postdocs from all fields are invited to participate! 

SOPS also aims to foster cross-generational conversations with up and coming PhDs as well as established faculty. As such, graduate students & faculty are welcome and encouraged to attend! In fact, given how broad and diverse the audience will be, postdoc presentations will be general and accessible to a wide audience.

Originally scheduled for May 29th, the 2020 Society of Postdoctoral Scholars Research & Career Symposium was postponed and rescheduled for National Postdoc Appreciation Week, September 21st to 25th, 2021. The symposium was held entirely online with a session each day at 12pm. 

Sessions catered to a variety of foundational postdoc training topics including wellness, career exploration, science communication, and presenting your research. You can access recordings of individual sessions below.
