Damon Vaughan is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Kentucky. He is a tree physiologist with a focus on environmental controls over tree growth and wood quality. He earned a PhD from Northern Arizona University studying variation in ponderosa pine wood properties across the northern Arizona landscape. Since then, he has worked on diverse topics ranging from forest operations and biomass utilization of small-diameter trees of the southwestern US, to the contribution of epiphytes to tree health and canopy microclimate in tropical montane cloud forests of Costa Rica.
