Caterina Squarci

Dr. Caterina Squarci is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Cardiology in the College of Medicine at the University of Kentucky. She earned her PhD at the University of Florence in Italy under the mentorship of Vincenzo Lombardi. During this period, her research revolved around performing high-resolution skeletal muscle mechanics measurements to determine the molecular function of the titin filament. In 2023, she moved to Kentucky to apply her knowledge in sarcomere mechanics to the study of heart failure in Dr Campbell's lab. Outside the laboratory, she is passionate about sustaining and improving the scientific community through workshops and events. She is also an avid reader, a rookie gamer, and recently addicted to Warhammer.
