Bhuvanesh Sukhlal Kalal is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in cancer biology, where his research focused on drug resistance in melanoma. He completed postdoctoral research at Wayne State University on oxidative stress in diabetic retinopathy and has previously served as an Assistant Professor at A.J. Institute of Medical Sciences and a Research Scientist at the National Institute of Epidemiology, India. With over 40 peer-reviewed publications, Kalal has earned awards such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Young Investigator Award and the Society for Autism Research’s Low-Income Countries Award. He is a member of various professional societies, serves on 18 advisory boards, and reviews for several top-tier journals.  In his free time, he enjoys table tennis and hiking.
